The Golden Sands of Irukhtir
The Cosmology of Äresta
Cosmology of the Planet Äresta
Äresta orbits a golden star, and is orbited by three moons. Heinos is the moon of life, Daimos is the moon of thought, and Rumos is the moon of power. Each moon appears a soft yellow color, except on an unpredicable schedule they reflect a different hue each, debatably resulting in curious earthly phenomena. Heinos turns a green hue, Daimos turns blue, and Rumos turns an angry red. Various claims are made about the nature and effects of these colorations and religious observances tend to be timed to coincide with them.
Scholars do their best to map these sporadic occurrences and try to reliably predict them. Even the most advanced mathematics do only a moderate job of understanding them, and there have been no congruent answers on these matters from religious sources.
Cosmology of the Other Planes
The council of Herminor occurred in 699 NW. At the turning of the centuries, a contingent of religious leaders from all of the faiths of men met with Duhorov and Quista sages and luminaries. They called upon the gods of men, dwarves and Halflings, and pled to have the nature of this world explained to them. For days, rituals of homage were performed and finally the gods of all three races were satisfied, and in the tallest tower of the city, they appeared before their champions.
For weeks, the skies of Herminor were dark, and mighty funnel clouds touched the tower. At the end of it all, the clouds receded into the skies, and many of the high priests were gone, claimed by the gods in exchange for the knowledge they imparted. In their places were left volumes of wisdom they had imparted, and these became the foundations of many of the religions of mankind.
Within the year, the religious leaders of mankind had published a few conflicting bibles, compiling the words of the departed luminaries. While the details may differ, here are the points on which they agree:
